CLIENT'S NEEDS

Our client was expanding its team to meet the new operational challenges of its growing industrial business in Europe.
We were mandated on a confidential and express basis to find their future Industrial Capex Sourcing Manager (W/M) to reinforce their current EMEA sourcing team.
Within the framework of this Interim Management Mission of 6 months minimum, the manager had a very operational role of sourcing. He was negotiating and purchasing key industrial equipment and associated services for various industrial projects.
Based in the Paris area, or alternatively in the Lyon area, he had a real European scope with 25 to 30% of travel time expected.

THE COMPANY

Large industrial group. The company is in the process industry with engineering, procurement, construction and management (EPCM) contracts.
It is very active in long-term projects, alone or in joint ventures. It has 24-hour operations organized in several teams.

THE MISSION

Primary Objectives:

- Directly manage sourcing activities for various Capex and projects.
- Collaborate with technical teams;
- Qualify some key industrial suppliers;
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers;
- Negotiate, Negotiate, Negotiate the best terms and conditions for the company;
- Communicate internally to be in line with the project objectives.

There is no direct management role in this mission, but a matrix team relationship with the different stakeholders.

THE PROFILE

Engineering background, in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
Experience in maintenance or project management.
5 years of experience in Purchasing in process industries such as Aluminium, Cement, Chemicals, Glass, Foundry, Petrochemicals for example.
Operational practice of Capex and EPCM contracts.
Important information: Experience in automotive, aerospace or other mass production industries will not meet our client's expectations.

Key skills
Perfect command of English and French.
